Ratchet Blocks have great gripping power under load,
whilst still allowing the rope to be released freely when required. They
are ideal for allowing the crew to hand hold main, jib and spinnaker sheets
and ease sail safely. Featuring specially designed sheaves made of carbon filled
nylon combining high strength and corrosion resistance. The sheaves run
on twin races of precision ground Delrin ballbearings for minimum friction
under high or low loads. The sheave groove profile only grips a 10mm rope
when under high loads.

A "Planar" switch system is used to allow easily
operated on/off selection of ratchet mechanism with cold, wet or gloved
hands, even under load. The series includes a reverse action / rotation single block which when paired with a standard model always has the switch facing the crew, ideal for jibs and spinnaker sheets. Standard models, single, (and Becket), and fiddle are all
available with adjustable cam cleat arms. Low profile purchase systems
(up to 6:1) are achieved by incorporating R5538 with the Macro series
of ballbearing blocks. Carbocleats + front fairlead are fitted to all
models. |
