Furling gear is now an almost indispensable aid for the single handed sailor and racing man alike! To be able to furl the headsail quickly, especially when short-handed when mooring, waiting for the start or simply clearing your wind after setting the spinnaker makes life so much easier! RWO offer two basic sizes, the FG1 system for craft up to 6 metres (20 feet) and the FG2 system for up to 8 metres (26 feet). Both sizes are available in single and endless line configurations.

FG1. System Furling gear for dinghies and day boats up to Flying Dutchman size 6 metres (20 feet). Utilising either the single or endless line principle, (10% reductions for multi-hulls). The FG1 gear has stainless steel spindles and ball bearings to enhance working loads. The drum on the bottom swivels is of moulded acetal secured to a body made of a high grade anodised aluminium. Both top and bottom swivels have a plastic insert to prevent sail chafe. They have a breakstain of 900kgs, (2000lb) and a fork spindle on the drum to fit most stemhead fittings.
