Tillerbrake Occasionally a simple mechanical device comes along to do a job on a boat that really needs doing, and does it well. The Tillerbrake is a unique device which has been sold for many years on the North American market, and is widely accepted. If you have ever had moments whilst sailing short or single handed when you have wanted to leave the helm, Tillerbrake is for you. This patented tiller lock utilises a lever assembly, injection moulded in high strength black nylon, to control a rope locking device through a control cable. The locking device fits neatly and unobtrusively under the tiller as shown. In operation, Tillerbrake is simplicity itself. When you grip the lever, you can steer freely. When you let go, the tiller locks, or use the optional "lock off" lever. Tillerbrake is suitable for all tiller controlled boats and is supplied complete with rope, all attachments and fitting instructions.
